Hi Y'all! Check back here for updates about what I'm up to:
This summer has been a blast! After spending the spring learning how to sing (!), I joined a rock band! I've been touring all over the country singing with Peter Matthew Bauer and The Devourers. It has been the experience of a lifetime, seriously. I can cross another thing off the bucket list (two big ones this year - filming in Sicily and joining a band). I loved every minute of it and think it is going to benefit me so much in my acting. As my friend Jess says, I am a better musician because I am an actor and a better actor because I am a musician. There are many similar dynamics to being on stage in a band or a play. The biggest and most important to me is learning to trust and rely on your instincts and your felow performers. The bond you form when you create something together is incredible. But now back to acting! Before I left on tour I had the opportunity to work on a new pilot for MTV called "One Bad Choice" which was great. I also shot some commercials, TV and radio, so keep an eye and ear out for that. I have also been plugging away at the screenplay I am writing with my husband! And meetings, meetings, meetings! It has been a good run! A great start to the new year! I spent all of February filming "Leaves of Tree" in Sicily! This was the project I started in Houston in December with Ante Novakovic directing. The films stars myself, Eric Roberts, Sean Young, Armand Assante, Federico Castellucio, Kresh Novakovic, Patrick Gorman, and so many great others! I had a great time working with such a wonderful cast and crew. We got to shoot in some amazing places in Sicily like the ancient temple Segesta, the old fishery Scopello, the town of Castellamare Del Golfo, beautiful hot springs and beaches, and an old olive grove, where our 'tree' was placed. The crew of Italians and Americans blended together seamlessly and the local people welcomed us with open arms. It was truly a magical experience! I can't wait to go back for the premiere there! Check out my picture from Sicily on my Facebook page (link below).
Filming! I had a great time going down to Houston (even in a snow storm!) and working with a great director, Ante Novakovic, and a terrific cast and crew. We got some great work done. I can't wait to finish the film in the new year! Keep an eye out for my Longhorn commercial, which has been running this fall and winter. Also, "The Suspect" is still making its way around the country so be sure to check it out. You can find out more info on their website: thesuspectmovie.com/. Wishing everyone safe and happy holidays!
November is going off with a bang! I got to shoot a Jif commercial with Kelly Ripa, who was incredibly friendly and funny. We had a great opening weekend of "The Mousetrap!" And I booked a lead in the feature film "Leaves of the Tree!" I am super excited about this film and am going to get to work with a fantastic cast including Eric Roberts, Armand Assante, Sean Young, Federico Castelluccio and Kresh Novakovic. We start shooting next month in Houston. To top all of this off, I started working with a new manager, Emily Gipson. I think this next year is going to be great!
Busy, busy, busy! Rehearsals are going great! This show is really coming together. Also, "The Suspect" is playing at the Philadelphia Film Festival plus other festivals all over the country. The film has some great performances from Mekhi Phifer, William Sadler, and Sterling K. Brown so make sure you check it out!
Summer is over and it is back to business! I have started rehearsals on the stage production of "The Mousetrap." I'm looking forward to working with this great cast. I've been running back and forth to NYC with commercial auditions galore and booked a national spot for Longhorn Steakhouse. My Kraft spot has been running like crazy so keep an eye out for it. I also just had the pleasure of working with Allison Bagnall on her new feature "Funny Bunny."
